Rust Revival 09

This past weekend me, my dad, and my buddies Tom and Bobblehead went to the Rust Revival in Wayland, MO. It was a damn good time! Wayland is such a dinky little town. Half the buildings were condemned. The other half of the buildings were a Tattoo shop, a restaurant and a bar. The restaurant "Reeds Bar and Grill" was amazing. It has extremely affordable prices and REAL FOOD. It was NOT frozen meals warmed up like every other little greasy spoon type of restaurant. I mean this place had real potatoes for fries and chips. If your ever near keokuk, IA go to Reed's Bar and Grill in Wayland, MO. Also the pizza at Angelini's in keokuk is pretty amazing.

Enough about food, the show was fun, the drinks were plenty, and the bands where rockin. Heres some pics.

60's style

60's custom and modern stuff and stuff that is styled to mimic what was goin on in the 60's is my absolute favorite. I can go on and on forever with pictures but here are some examples why im obsessed with 60's junk.

BSA progress

Damn, its been a while. Oh well, no one reads this shit anyways. haha

Progress has been slow on my BSA. Figuring out this springer/brake is no easy task.

I took the frame and springer to my friend Joe who is going to machine a top clamp for me since im an idiot and bought it without one. He got a cup machined for the lower bearing and now hes waiting on me to find a 1"x24 stem nut for preloading the bearings so he can figure out the measurments and make the piece.

I also took my 68 triumph brake over there and we came to the conclusion that hes going to have to machine a new axle for me too.

In the meantime Im going to finish polishing my backing plate on my new buffer (which kicks ass!) Hopefully ill be able to order a new David Bird hardtail from Lowbrowcustoms too.

Fresh Meat on Ryans sporty

Me and Ryan just picked up his bike from Watsons. He got some new tires put on. It looks so much better. The rear tires rubs the oil tank but we think adding a link in the chain and pulling the tire back will fix that. Now hes gonna put some new upsweep pipes on it, build some z bars and lower the headlight a little bit. This things gonna be the baddest bike in town. Actually it probably already is.

Triumph headed to its new home

The Triumph is headed for its new home today. Well technically it will be at Detroit Autorama (in the basement) and then headed to its new home in Virginia with Atomb Bomb Customs. It probably won't look like this for long but Clay knows what the hell hes doing so theres nothing to worry about.

Its been a while!

Damn, It's hard to find time to update this crap. Ive been so busy. Working alot, hanging out with Shawna a bunch (trying to make her think im a good boyfriend. Right babe?) Also working on the 56 buick helping my ol' man with body work. Trying to sell some furniture and if theres any time left I do something for my bike and maybe eat and sleep.

I finally got my 67 BSA engine sent off to Meatball at Hell On Wheels. It should be arriving at his place sometime today. Im excited. I about 100% sure that he's gonna do a kick ass job on it.

I can't think of much else to say but Ill leave with this little gem of a video.

Judas Priest, Haircare, and MCM Furniture

Alright, if you don't know already, Im obsessed with mid century modern furniture. I got rid of a few of my couches so I thought I better replace the one that was in my room. I got this bad ass Kroehler sectional and started cleaning it tonight.

I wasnt sure if I was gonna keep this one for a while or try to get rid of it and find something different. However, the stars aligned, and I think this couch has a new home. So you ask, "What makes you so adamant about keeping it Nick?" Well I can answer your question with this one picture.

Yes, you are correct. That is Judas Priest's "British Steel" on cassette. I found that inside the right section of the couch. Not to mention an awesome comb that I will use to comb my beautiful locks.

Now, I myself was wondering why Joyce could ever let a gift as great as a Judas Priest tape slip through the cracks but the world may never know.....

Best of Jason Lee

Jason Lee is a great actor. He is awesome in My Name is Earl, adds that "special something" to Kevin Smith's movies as the characters, Brodie, Banky, Azreal, and Lance Dowds, and puts on a great performance as lead singer of the band Stillwater, in the movie Almost Famous. But this footage here......this is Jason Lees funnest stuff.

The Lizard King

I wasn't aware that the Hell's Angels had such a kick ass fashion sense. I saved this picture because I love his hat.
